10,000 Educators To Convene with International Education Experts and Advocates in New York City on March 16th and 17th

New York, NY  - WNET's 7th Annual Celebration of Teaching & Learning will gather education officials, advocates, experts and newsmakers to find innovative solutions to the most pressing issues in American education

WHAT:
The 7th Annual Celebration of Teaching & Learning, one of the country's largest professional development conferences for educators, will draw upon top global education experts, newsmakers and celebrities to discuss the most pressing issues in U.S. education and share new methods for engaging teachers and students to excel in the classroom - and beyond.  An unparalleled list of speakers - including government officials, union leaders, actor, authors and an astronaut - will lead attendees in addressing: bullying, the dropout crisis, teacher effectiveness and evaluation, and challenges in urban education, among other thought-provoking topics.

During the Celebration, key participants from the International Summit on the Teaching Profession, including Summit Facilitator Tony McKay, Executive Director, Center for Strategic Education, and several members of the U.S. delegation, will provide educators from across the nation with a rare opportunity to hear directly from Summit participants on how representatives of the world's top education systems regard the landscape of global education. The panel will discuss how international successes in education can best be adapted for American classrooms and how U.S. practices may provide value to students and teachers abroad.
