Eduventures Launches Learning Collaborative to Address Key Challenges Facing College and University Leaders

Boston, MA (via PRWEB) March 17, 2008 -- Eduventures, Inc., the leader in shared-cost, data-driven research and consulting for higher education, has launched the new member-based Academic Leadership Learning Collaborative, designed to help college and university presidents, chancellors, provosts, and chief academic officers understand and address campuswide transformational issues.
Academic Leadership, the eighth Learning Collaborative to be launched by Eduventures, draws on the collective experience and research the company has developed in working with its other Learning Collaboratives that cover continuing and professional education, development, enrollment management, online higher education, schools of education, student affairs, and summer sessions.
"It became clear to us from our work with our other Learning Collaboratives that there are a great many challenges - common challenges - now facing the leaders of colleges and universities across the United States," said Brent Keltner, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Eduventures. "Given the depth and breadth of our experience in higher education, we believe we are in a unique position to provide them with the data, insight, and guidance they need to overcome these challenges."
The Academic Leadership Learning Collaborative will provide research and analysis, as well as decision-making support, to its members. The research will focus on themes with institutionwide impact: faculty development and support; faculty measurement and compensation; curricular innovation, learning outcomes and assessment; and academic affairs and student success.
According to Keltner, the initial research is expected to compare and identify effective practices for working with adjunct faculty; to identify benchmarks in total faculty compensation for a variety of positions and academic units; to collect and compare effective assessment strategies used by universities and colleges at the program and major level; and to evaluate the impact of lower student-to-faculty ratios on student outcomes and academic engagement.
