‘TestWiz’ Incorporates 60,000 Item Test Bank for Creating Printable Tests and Answer Sheets in ELA, Math and Science
Harvard, MA, August 17, 2010 – dataMetrics, a Massachusetts-based company specializing in test processing and reporting software for K–12 educational institutions, recently collaborated with Educational Testing Service (ETS) to offer ETS’s Formative Assessment Item Bank containing more than 60,000 high-quality items within its TestWiz assessment analysis system. Items are aligned to the standards of all 50 states and Washington, D.C. and make it easy for educators to create meaningful, custom formative assessments.
“Creating reliable test items tied to state standards is a very time consuming task for districts,” said Naomi Menikoff, President of dataMetrics Software, Inc. “By collaborating with ETS and adding their test items to TestWiz, we are making a major change to the process of creating formative assessments. Now teachers can simply name a test, choose items to test one standard or multiple standards, including difficulty factors, and print out the student tests and answer documents.”
The items in the bank were carefully created by ETS through a rigorous item development process. Items are available to measure mathematics and English- Language Arts standards for grades K–12 and science standards for grades 3–12. The ETS item bank consists of multiple-choice items and short and extended constructed-response items with item-specific and generic rubrics.
After they administer a test, educators can scan the answer documents back into the TestWiz system using TestWiz’s plain paper-scanning technology and analyze the results using multiple data elements.
The ETS item bank is currently available for all registered TestWiz users for an additional $3 per student/per year. For more information, visit www.testwiz.com.
