dataMetrics’ ‘AutoRoster’ Simplifies the Student Roster Management Process

Easily Link Student Information to Teachers, No Matter How Often That Information Changes

Harvard, MA, February 19, 2010 – Tying ever-changing student data to the appropriate teachers is a challenge for districts when dealing with software applications. Methods for doing this vary per software program and SIF agents created for this purpose are often too technologically difficult for districts to use. To simplify and automate this process, dataMetrics, a Massachusetts-based company specializing in test data analysis software for educational institutions, has created an AutoRoster application that allows districts to easily link educators to student information within their TestWiz system.

AutoRoster satisfies the specific need for moving correct student roster information from a student information system into TestWiz. Once set up, the process runs automatically on a prearranged schedule to ensure that data is as accurate as possible. AutoRoster is capable of working with other software programs as well as TestWiz, making it a good application for other companies to use for their software programs.

“Our district experienced great difficulties in trying to figure out how to roster our student population. Without a roster application, only a student’s primary teacher during a given school year could access and view the student’s data,” said Ethan Cancell, Associate Director of Assessment, Data Analysis, Research and Evaluation at Brockton Public Schools. “We came to dataMetrics and asked for a solution, which they quickly created. AutoRoster provides us with an automated and systematic way to roster the students thus allowing us to easily manage student information throughout the years. This is especially important when we want test data reports to be used at the classroom level so that every teacher can help every student learn to his or her greatest potential.”

TestWiz processes, scans, scores, and reports on all student assessment data in one robust system in order for administrators and teachers to use data to inform instruction. The system allows users all the way down to the classroom level to view, sort and filter assessment results from national, state, local and standardized assessments.

Availability
dataMetrics is making the AutoRoster application available to any district with an enrollment of more than 3,000 students that uses or purchases TestWiz. In order to utilize this application, districts must have a web-based student management system. dataMetrics will work with the district’s personnel to conduct the initial set up.  Districts under 3,000 students and companies that are interested in using the AutoRoster application should contact dataMetrics at 978-456-3464.
